What not to do regarding a medical board investigation

On Behalf of | Dec 1, 2017 | Professional License Defense |

Being faced with an investigation in front of a medical board is stressful. You don’t know what to expect or maybe even why you are facing a review. It’s likely that you have received a letter from the board stating you are under review. You absolutely must respond to that letter even if you know there is nothing wrong. Here’s what you should never do when it comes to such an investigation in California.

It’s understandable that some people like to represent themselves when it comes to certain legal issues. This is not one of them. Take this warning seriously; you can risk losing your license if you make one false move regarding defense of yourself. Even though you know medicine, you need a lawyer on your side to navigate the legal waters.

Being called in front of the medical board is overwhelming. You need to stay calm when sitting in front of the board. Do not lose your control and show any anger or animosity towards the board for the investigation. The more professional you remain, the more likely it is that the hearing will go well.

When the board requests documents to review as part of the investigation, be sure you provide them with what they ask. Do not fail to send these documents. Also, do not send more than what was requested. If you are an excellent record keeper you should not have any worries with submitting documents.

Are you facing a medical board review in Sacramento? It’s best for you to find legal representation immediately. This is not an issue you should handle by yourself. Your license, which is your livelihood, is too important.
