NSO/HPSO Insurance
Many healthcare professionals have insurance from a company called NSO or HPSO. When you have this insurance, and you need legal representation against your licensing board the insurance company will provide you with a list of attorneys from The American Association of Nurse Attorneys. (TANNA) for you to contact for representation. Our attorneys are members of TAANA and we frequently represent clients who have insurance through NSO or HPSO.
NSO and HPSO have a set hourly rate that compensates attorneys for legal representation of their insureds. For these clients our office bills at the exact hourly rate that NSO/HPSO pays. We do not require our clients to pay any additional hourly fee for our legal work on top of the hourly rate NSO/HPSO pays us.
We have recently become aware that there are some attorneys who except NSO or HPSO insurance but require their clients to pay them the difference between their high hourly and the hourly rate that NSO/HPSO compensates them at.
This can result in people paying large legal bills even though they have insurance!
Please be certain to ask any attorney who you contact if they accept the hourly rate paid by NSO/HPSO or if they require you to come out of pocket to compensate them for the legal work they’ve already been paid by NSO/HPSO
Give us a call if you want honest effective legal representation that accepts the hourly rate your NSO/HPSO insurance pays.
